Hootsuite

Contributor(s): Lauren Horwitz

Hootsuite is a social media management system that gives users an integrated user interface from which to manage their social interactions. Hootsuite supports Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Foursquare and more.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Hootsuite operates on a freemium model (where base functionality is free but premium features are offered at a charge) and has more than 9 million users.

The service is commonly used to manage digital media and digital marketing and enables social media managers, digital marketers and others to submit messages to a variety of social media services with far fewer clicks. Alternatives to Hootsuite include Spredfast and Sprout Social and TweetDeck.
